The Rest of June

We spent most of June OUTSIDE!! Yes, we love the outdoors. Most of the time we were up at the cabin fishing and shooting, but other times we just hung out at the creek, went to the rodeo, visited sliding rock, enjoyed the school playground, and helped on the projects at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

This was fun, but the we made them wait til the water had calmed and then when we finally let them get the raft out to raft down the river it was so low that they were barely able to float and would hit rocks on the bottom of the creek.
(I guess that's what you get when your moms are a little paranoid about water-hehehe)

June Happenings

Trey was going to run the Ragnar again, but because of his foot he was the driver and photo guy. He still had a blaste! This is the group that he was with. It is a mixture of my family and my sister Jo's In-laws. This is a crazy and FUN group to be with.

Our van all ready to take on the Ragnar!
At thanksgiving pt they do a family night every Monday night in the summers. This was the Pirate night and the kids loved it. They got to make eye patches, learn to sword fight, walk the plank, and go on a treasure hunt that was all through the gardens.

They found the pirate treasure and the captain even shared a prize with them.

OUr apricot tree was LOADED this year! It took all these kids about 3 hours to pick just this tree. I was able to make some apricot jam (my favorite) and have some left over to dry.
Lagoon is a tradition in the summer time. We usually only go once, but this year the power went out while we were there and so they gave us free tickets to come back so we did. I was glad that we get to go with everyone. I don't think I could get to all the rides with 1 kid that wants to ride all the big rides, 1 that can go on most rides, & 1 that can go on some with an adult.

Thank Lib for taking the kids since I couldn't go on anything:(

cabin Fun- Trey helping brace the roof so it doesn't fall in this winter.

The creek in Cedar Hills. This rope was up for 1 day and we just happened to be there before they took in down.
Johnny is a CRAY man. Nothing scares him. He is so fun to be with.

May at the Gardner Home

May is always more crazy than I think it is going to be. It feels like summer is here. The days are longer and school is coming to a close. So here is what we did.

FAMILY FUN
John played soccer. While he was playing he LOVED it. But getting him there was sometimes difficult. After the season he told me he wanted to try another sport. So we will, but I have a feeling we will be back to soccer. Just look at that grin!
Johnny with his team and coach
This little robin laied eggs here on our satellite dish. So we got to see them hatch and learn to fly.
This is what Beef did every day until the boys got home from school.

THE PARK & SCHOOL
Since the school has been built our favorite past time is going there to ride bikes, play on the playground and just hang out. The boys also enjoy going down tot he park, but it is always a struggle to get back home because it is all up hill and if they took any bikes Trey and I are usually pushing them home:)
Beef & John at the park

This is the "new" bike trailer and the boys love riding in it. Mostly because they don't have to do too much work.
John at the park
Beefy at the school playing some kind of baseball
Kelton at the school racing one of the girls in his class that was playing there.

KELTON'S BIRTHDAY
Kelton turned 7 this year and for his party he got to invite 5 friends + John & Beef to his party. He decided he wanted to go to Trafalga to play a game of laser tag and then arcades. So that is exactly what we did. For his birthday present grandma, mom, dad, and bis brothers bought him a ticket to Denver to see his aunt KK and uncle Brad. He had a blast. I don't have any pics of that because I was extremely sick because of being prego, but luckily KK took some pics and is going to get them to me.
Happy Birthday! To my "Kelty-Poo"
His party group minus a few.
McGuire, Camdon, ?, Kelton, Andrew R, Ryan
Missing: Drew, Hunter, & John.
Thanks Libbey for helping drive the kids and keep track of them. Also a special thanks to Jo for taking Beef.

BUILDING THE FENCE
So my dad has always wanted a metal fence around the front pasture of his property. So he has slowly been buying metal piping and saving it until he had enough to build the entire fence. Well, this year he had enough. All the brothers-in-law would go up and help. The difficult think with a metal fence is that you have to weld it all together. So, since we only have 1 welding machine and 2 people that know how to weld the others were used for grunt work. They got to haul metal from one place to the next. Cut it with a cutting torch, dig holes, and make sure very thing fit. Lets just say it's a good thing it was wet for so long other wise we may have started a few fires-hehehe
James welding the fence together
Dad, Chad, James, & I think Trey is behind there making sure everything is going to fit.
T-man and Lacie making sure the boys made the fence correctly.
The sisters got to watch kids and keep them entertained and out of the way. Fire seems to draw kids to it, no matter how big or small.
Kelton and Saige decided to put up a lemonade stand. They were out there for about 3-4 hours and made over $20. They are really cute and persuasive.

JOHN GRADUATION FROM PRESCHOOL

John & his teacher "Mrs. Skouson"
His Tree House Preschool graduation class.
Great Job John!

DANCE FESTIVAL
Every year the elementary school does a dance festival. This year Kelton had to wear green and they did a dance to "Twist & SHout". It was really good, but after losing Beef twice I was ready to go home. Thank goodness Kelton was the 2nd group to go. Good job Kelton you did a good job remembering and following all the dance moves.
(Kelton is the one in the back behind the girl in the red and yellow)
