May at the Gardner Home

May is always more crazy than I think it is going to be. It feels like summer is here. The days are longer and school is coming to a close. So here is what we did.

FAMILY FUN
John played soccer. While he was playing he LOVED it. But getting him there was sometimes difficult. After the season he told me he wanted to try another sport. So we will, but I have a feeling we will be back to soccer. Just look at that grin!
Johnny with his team and coach
This little robin laied eggs here on our satellite dish. So we got to see them hatch and learn to fly.
This is what Beef did every day until the boys got home from school.

THE PARK & SCHOOL
Since the school has been built our favorite past time is going there to ride bikes, play on the playground and just hang out. The boys also enjoy going down tot he park, but it is always a struggle to get back home because it is all up hill and if they took any bikes Trey and I are usually pushing them home:)
Beef & John at the park

This is the "new" bike trailer and the boys love riding in it. Mostly because they don't have to do too much work.

Beefy at the school playing some kind of baseball
Kelton at the school racing one of the girls in his class that was playing there.

KELTON'S BIRTHDAY
Kelton turned 7 this year and for his party he got to invite 5 friends + John & Beef to his party. He decided he wanted to go to Trafalga to play a game of laser tag and then arcades. So that is exactly what we did. For his birthday present grandma, mom, dad, and bis brothers bought him a ticket to Denver to see his aunt KK and uncle Brad. He had a blast. I don't have any pics of that because I was extremely sick because of being prego, but luckily KK took some pics and is going to get them to me.
Happy Birthday! To my "Kelty-Poo"
His party group minus a few.
McGuire, Camdon, ?, Kelton, Andrew R, Ryan
Missing: Drew, Hunter, & John.
Thanks Libbey for helping drive the kids and keep track of them. Also a special thanks to Jo for taking Beef.

BUILDING THE FENCE
So my dad has always wanted a metal fence around the front pasture of his property. So he has slowly been buying metal piping and saving it until he had enough to build the entire fence. Well, this year he had enough. All the brothers-in-law would go up and help. The difficult think with a metal fence is that you have to weld it all together. So, since we only have 1 welding machine and 2 people that know how to weld the others were used for grunt work. They got to haul metal from one place to the next. Cut it with a cutting torch, dig holes, and make sure very thing fit. Lets just say it's a good thing it was wet for so long other wise we may have started a few fires-hehehe
James welding the fence together
Dad, Chad, James, & I think Trey is behind there making sure everything is going to fit.
T-man and Lacie making sure the boys made the fence correctly.
The sisters got to watch kids and keep them entertained and out of the way. Fire seems to draw kids to it, no matter how big or small.
Kelton and Saige decided to put up a lemonade stand. They were out there for about 3-4 hours and made over $20. They are really cute and persuasive.

JOHN GRADUATION FROM PRESCHOOL

John & his teacher "Mrs. Skouson"
His Tree House Preschool graduation class.
Great Job John!

DANCE FESTIVAL
Every year the elementary school does a dance festival. This year Kelton had to wear green and they did a dance to "Twist & SHout". It was really good, but after losing Beef twice I was ready to go home. Thank goodness Kelton was the 2nd group to go. Good job Kelton you did a good job remembering and following all the dance moves.

The Rest of April

**Disclaimer-This is just the highlights from the month. I am blogging from pictures. So if it didn't get photographed it probably will be forgotten. So if this seems like my life if a big party, it is because that is when we bring the camera along**

SPRING BREAK!
For spring break the kids get 3 days off school and I usually have a gymnastics competition in St. George. So guess what? That's right we headed to good old St. George. Since Saige and Tess (my neices) were competing their families came. Along with Libbey and her hubby because she was coaching and Boo, Chad, and Grandpa came too. So we had the who crew (minus KK and Brad-missed you guys). It was hectic, but entertaining.
We started the weekend off with a little hiking while we waited for everyone else to make it down.

Then we did some swimming!
(My aunt Kim teaching Kelton to dive into the pool-my boys LOVE her!)
While I was at the meet my "Sweet" sister Jo babysat the kids while all the boys went shooting. They had so much fun they went an did it again after we got done coaching. (7 kids at a gym meet is NOT what I call fun- but she did it with the help of my other sister Boo-Thanks guys!)

Then it was back to the pool.

For the gym party we have pizza delivered and eat by the pool. This is mom and dad getting everything together so it will go smoothly-They are the best party hosts ever!
On the way home we stopped at this gas station in Beaver. It is pretty cool. They pump your gass and clean you windows. I know this was the thing back when "FULL Service" was around, but you don't see it in Utah. They also have this HuGE rocking chair that the boys had to climb on. (Kelton was getting treats with Trey)
GRANDMA'S 90TH BIRTHDAY
My sweetest Grandma Chatfield turned 90. I can't believe it. Well, for her birthday she asked that all that could make it go to a temple session at the Salt Lake Temple and then have lunch together at the Lion House. Trey and I weren't able to make it to the temple but enjoyed the luncheon and all the trivia that we learned about grandma great!
My Grandma Chatfield-
She is legally blind but puts us all to shame is the "getting it done" arena

My Grandma Chatfield has 5 kids and these are the grandchildren from 3 of them-I believe she had 27 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
Happy Birthday Grandma!

April

In April we tried to have a bit of fun. It is such a hard time of year because there is not much you can do. The snow is gone, its still pretty cold, and it is usually muddy. So this April we got on the snowmobiles and headed up to my parents cabin. We is actually Kelton and Trey because as I got everything ready and in the car John came to me and told me he didn't feel great. So him and Beef (We didn't have someone to hold him on the snowmobile) and I stayed home and enjoyed some time together. It was nice. They ended up going with my sister Boo and her hubby
Chad-O. They had a blast.
Can you believe how much snow was still at the cabin in APRIL!!
Kelton next to the snowmobile going back to the car to get the rest of his snow stuff on.
Some kind of animal track that they found at the cabin. I think its a mountain lion track, but what do I know?!?

SPRING BASEBALL
Kelton played baseball this year on the Lone Peak league. He liked it because he uncle Brady helped coach and his cousin Jace was on his team. He also enjoyed seeing a few of the neighbor kids that played on that league also. He team was "Storm" and he wear the hat for about 3 weeks straight. It was also one of the coldest seasons I can remember. I would park the van as close as I could to the games and turn on a movie for the boys and then when Kelton was up to bat or out in the field I would grab my blanket and head out into the wind. Here's to next year.
Kelton with a teammate. (I don't remember his name since I left it this long-oops)
Doesn't he look good?

EASTER
This is our Easter picture. I got the boys these colored shirts and ties because I couldn't help myself. I think they look so handsome, but I'm sure I should get the use to wearing white shirts to church.
And Yes, they do have candy in their mouths:)
We also took the boys to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point.
I'll fill you in on that in a later post.

The Rest of March

I trained and competed a sprint tri with my sisters and a friend, Shanda Palmer. It was nerve racking, but good experience. My sister Lindsey is the one that usually does the triathlons, but she was 7 month prego and had to help all of us with bikes, swim stuff, and transitions. Thanks Boo. So this was one COLD tri. So if I remember right we swam 300m, then biked 13 miles, and then ran 3 miles (something like that). I did pretty good on my swim, thanks for the lessons Shanda. My bike was OK. I am not a great biker, in fact I don't even own a bike, one of Lindsey's friends lent me his wife's bike. Then the run OUCH! While training I was down to about a 9 :30 mile, but in the race it took me a LOT longer. But I finished and now I can say I did it!!
(Me, Jo, & Lacie getting ready to start the race)

It was shortly after the Tri that I found out that I was expecting so, I'm attributing my slow run to that-hehehe

JAMES' BIRTHDAY
So for Jame's birthday Lacie got him passes to Ifly and the Wave Rider. It was a blast. Since I was prego I didn't get to do the Ifly, Trey did, and I did the Wave Rider.

(Me having James help me get out in the wave)

THE DENTIST
I don't know about you, but my kids LOVE getting their teeth cleaned at the dentist. I think it has something to do with the movie, the sunglasses, and the prizes. Here are a few photos to show just how much they love it.

RANDOM PICS
Beef got mad at me one morning because I wouldn't let him wear dirty shorts on a cold day. So he went down to his room to pout. I found him a few minutes later just like this. NO SHORTS or UNDERWEAR, asleep, but ready for the day:)
This is Beef also. The boys were at school and he got mad because he didn't get to go. So, I told him to go to his room until he could calm down. Soon it got really quite so I went and checked on him. I found him asleep on the floor with half his clothes thrown from his drawers. I guess he was just to tired to get the rest of the clothes out before he fell asleep.

Practicing baseball at the indoor batting cages

Beef showing his new art work on his very own canvas
(Oh, thats permanent marker!)
Kelton and John "playing" with their chickens. They let them out and then try to catch them. Once they catch them they hold them and pet them. Yes the chickens just sit in their laps and let Kelton and John pet them. It is really crazy. The really funny thing is John because can just walk right up to his chicken and pick it up. Kelton has to chase his a bit, but if it's me or Beef they run! No way are they going to let us touch them.

WOW! Its Been A While

Ok, so its been a while since I've updated. I do have a great excuse. We are expecting baby #4. A GIRL!! We are so excited. But the real reason I haven't up dated is because since I have been pregnant I get nauseous looking at the computer, my kindle, my phone. Basically anything electronic. It has gotten better in the last month, but it is daunting to think about all the catching up I have to do. Hopefully, it will come in the next few weeks. (Just highlights of what we have been doing since March.) Stay tuned.
