WOW! Its Been A While

Ok, so its been a while since I've updated. I do have a great excuse. We are expecting baby #4. A GIRL!! We are so excited. But the real reason I haven't up dated is because since I have been pregnant I get nauseous looking at the computer, my kindle, my phone. Basically anything electronic. It has gotten better in the last month, but it is daunting to think about all the catching up I have to do. Hopefully, it will come in the next few weeks. (Just highlights of what we have been doing since March.) Stay tuned.

"Sleep" Camp

"Sleep Camp" is actually Sheep camp. You know like the camps that the sheep herders sleep in while watching their herds. My boys and all the grandkids for that matter call it "Sleep camp" because all they do in it is sleep.

My boys have been looking forward to this for a VERY long time. My dad has the kids come up to his house on Friday night and they sleep out in his sheep camp. I know it sounds amazing, EXCEPT that fact is that the kids and grandpa tell me it REALLY is. Go figure, a night in a sheep camp. (Sheep Camp=a camper that is about as big as 2 queen beds smashed together, NO electricity, NO running water, and the whole think is heated with a small wood cook stove,=my dad's dream) Although it doesn't quite fit my ideal idea of camping, it would be fun to stay the night with my kidos and grandpa. Beefy packed his backpack at 10:30AM and carried it around all day-hehe. So this is how the night went, as per the boys story. We dropped the kids off to grandpa's house at 8:30PM (grandma was gone to a gym meet til the next day). They helped grandpa fix somethings around the house and then grabbed a flash light and headed out to the "sleep camp". Once there they all went potty (off the front step Johnny told me). Then climbed into bed where grandpa told them a story about a horse whose rider didn't have a head. They all then fell asleep until morning where once again the boys got to go potty right off the steps. Then grandpa cooked some sausage on the wood stove and then put the boys in the truck and headed for the Lehi Bakery (worlds greatest doughnuts). The boys got to pick out their very own doughnut and then they ate it on the ride back to grandpa's house. They helped grandpa do some fencing until dad came and picked them up. (I had a Young Womens Breakfast at my house- so they got to go back to grandpa until I got done). We are still talking about it a week later. Grandpa is amazing!

**This is just so I remember**

Last night my parents came with Family Home Evening and Dessert. My kids loved listening to my dad give a short lesson on "wants" and "needs" and about tithing. I was surprised at Kelton & John because they both understood what was a "need" and what was a "want". Then today when I went to the store, John asked me if he could have a candy bar and I asked him if it was a need or a want and he knew it was a want-I have some seriously smart kids. Then my mom told stories about being nice to others even when they are mean to us. It reminded me of when I was a kid and would complain to her about someone being mean and how I was going to be mean back so they would see how it feels and she would tell me. "Be nice, maybe their mom died." (my mom always trying see a justification for they way people are:). Anyway, after we had orange juice, ice cream & strawberries. It was really great to have them over.

Lost Tooth

I can't believe it. My boy has lost his first tooth. He has been so frustrated lately because he still has all his baby teeth and he has been asking and asking when his teeth are gong to fall out. "Everyone in my class has lost a tooth, BUT ME!" he would tell me. Well, it's finally out. I picked him up from school on Friday and noticed he was carrying a ziplock. I asked what was in the bag and he showed me his toothless smile. He told me he was wiggling it and then there was a pop and the tooth fell out. He said it hurt just a little and that it bled a bit, but he cleaned off his mouth at the drinking fountain. The tooth fairy did make it to our house and left him $2. What?!? The tooth fairy only gave me $.50. Times have changed. So happy you finally lost that tooth and you are now in the "Lost Tooth Club". (A book we have read lately)

Presidents Weekend

There is no better time to get away on vacation than Feb. Utah in February is REALLY hard on the Gardner Family. I looked back and we have had a sick kid over Presidents Weekend for the past 4 years!! The good news is that the sickness is usually a cough, or runny nose, or bronchiolitis, sinus infection, (this year it was a runny nose, cough & broken ankle). Yah, the fun stuff that kids get at school and then spread around your house. Anyway, we still manage to get out of the house and down to Lava Hot Spring. My family has been going in February since I can remember and it still goes on. Well, we did make it this year and here are the pics.
